Episode 12
Time of Day: Same Day; Evening
At the Logan Mansion, in the Living Room, Brooke and Ridge are curled up on the couch. They are now dressed back in more comfortable day clothes, such as jeans and a comfortable shirt. They are both drinking a glass of red wine.

BROOKE: I’m surprised that we haven’t gotten any calls from the office.

RIDGE: Same here. They’re either cleaning up a huge, busy mess…
BROOKE: Or, they finally realized that we both deserved a day off.
As Brooke and Ridge lean in for a kiss, the doorbell is heard ringing.
RIDGE: Well, we can say that we got away with it for a few hours.
BROOKE: Well, well, well, I guess we have to return to reality.
Brooke and Ridge smile at one another. As the doorbell is rung again, Ridge gets up and walks to the door to answer it. Brooke stands, as the camera follows Ridge to the Entrance Way.
RIDGE: (opening the door) Steffy, what are you doing here?
STEFFY: (smiling) I thought I’d find you here, dad. When you weren’t at the guest hosue, this is the first place that I thought of. Can I come in?
RIDGE: Sure thing.
Steffy enters. Ridge shuts the door and the two walk into the living room.
STEFFY: Hi, Brooke.
BROOKE: Hello, Steffy. What brings you by?
STEFFY: Well, dad, you told me to keep you updated on my search for someone to fill Sally’s position in the design department.
RIDGE: So, I assume you found someone?
STEFFY: I did. And, she’s damn good. That much I know. However, I don’t think that you’re going to like who I picked. In fact, I’m one hundred percent sure that you won’t like it one bit.
At Thomas’ Apartment, in the Living Room, Thomas is sitting on the couch. The living room is very dimly lit. Only a few candles are lit and one lamp turned on.

THOMAS: My plan is coming together nicely. Very nicely. And, because of my sister’s hiring skills, it’s gonna get even closer to the big finale that I’ve always wanted. Pretty soon, all of LA will see that I am the next Forrester in line to take over everything that generations before spent their lives building.
Thomas smiles mischievously.
At Spencer Publications, in Bill’s Office, Jack walks over to Taylor.
JACK: Mom, you really need to leave. It’s not appropriate for you to be here.

BILL: Your son is right, Taylor. One wrong move and I’ll call my security to throw you out of here faster than that dressmaker Ridge Forrester can pull together a cheap looking collection that looks like it came from Dollar General.

TAYLOR: Bill, I will not be intimidated by you any longer. And, I will not let you take my son down your dark and dangerous path that you’ve taken so many people down before.
BILL: Taylor, go! Now!
JACK: Mom, please.
TAYLOR: No! I will stop this from happening.
BILL: There’s no way you can do that. I’m already prepared to make Jack an irresistible offer. This is one I know he cannot refuse.
JACK: Really?
BILL: Yes. Jack, how would you like to be the new executive editor of special content projects? You’ll even have your own office with a view.
TAYLOR: Bill, you can make offers all day long. However, I know damn good and well that my son would never accept a job from you. I may have done the unthinkable and unforgivable when I shot you, however, that does not change the bastard that you are. Go ahead, Jack. Turn him down. Turn him down right now.
Back at the Logan Mansion, in the Living Room, Brooke comes out from behind the coffee table and walks over to Ridge, who is still standing across from Steffy.
RIDGE: Who exactly did you hire that I wouldn’t be happy with?
BROOKE: I would like to know that too. You definitely have us engulfed in suspense. So, come on, Steffy, share it with us. Who did you hire to take Sally’s place at the company?
STEFFY: Before I tell you two, I think you should know that this isn’t personal. I spent hours trying to find someone that would be worthy of Sally’s place. I was looking for someone with not only creativity and drive, but also with a flare for the unique, just like Sally.
RIDGE: That’s a good idea. Who posseses those qualities in your opinion?
STEFFY: Someone who used to live in LA. Someone we all know.
BROOKE: Steffy, as much as I love playing 20 questions…
STEFFY: I get it. I do. I’ve kept you hanging long enough. I just…
RIDGE: You’re just trying to calm the situation.
STEFFY: Exactly.
RIDGE: Honey, I trusted you with this. I let you take this one, because I knew that you would pick whoever was best for the job.
STEFFY: (sighs) I gave Amber Moore a call. And, she accepted my offer right away. She should be in LA any day now.
BROOKE: Really? You hired Amber of all people?
RIDGE: Wow. I’m shocked.
STEFFY: I had a feeling you would say that. I promise you that Amber will live up to the expectations that I set forth for her. She’s a great designer.
RIDGE: Oh, honey, it was never Amber’s talent that I worried about.
BROOKE: Same here. Amber always has something up her sleeve. She has never returned to this town without some hidden agenda. God only knows what that is now.
Back at Spencer Publications, in Bill’s Office, Bill is now leaning up against his desk.
BILL: Come on, Jack. You don’t want to pass this up. Your starting salary alone would be more money than you could’ve ever dreamed of. And, since you would be an executive in the top tier of this company, you’ll even be issued a company penthouse and car.
JACK: Mr. Spencer, thank you for telling me that. That’s amazing.
TAYLOR: Jack, can’t you see what’s going on here? He’s manipulating our mother/son relationship. He’s throwing anything at the wall till it sticks and you accept his offer.
JACK: Mom, I just can’t pass this up. This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime offer. You have to know that. This is everything that I have ever worked for. I spent so many years in business school. I spent all that time in the library and in the classroom. And, I even spent all that time shadowing executive after executive until they taught me valuable lessons that I would someday carry onto my own job as an executive at a multi-million dollar corporation. This is what I want. This is what I crave.
TAYLOR: Don’t do this, son! Please!
JACK: Too late, mom. Mr. Spencer, I accept your offer.
BILL: (smiling) Very good. Welcome aboard to Spencer Publications.
Bill goes to Jack. Bill reaches to shake Jack’s hand. However, before he can, Taylor slaps Bill across the face. Taylor then gets very close to Bill.
TAYLOR: Damn you, Bill Spencer. Damn you.
Back at Thomas’ Apartment, in the Living Room, Thomas is pacing around the room.
THOMAS: Everything is finally falling into place. I can’t believe it. And, no one has figured it out. Sure, Hope and Liam have stayed hot on my trail. But, they haven’t even come close to what my plan actually is.
Then, a knock is heard at the door.
THOMAS: Finally, my plan can officially begin.
Thomas goes to the door.
THOMAS: (opening the door/smiling) Welcome home, babe.

AMBER: Hello, Thomas. It’s good to be home, honey.
The camera cuts back and forth between Amber and Thomas, smiling at one another.
