The Bold & The Beautiful Friday 2/28/2020

Episode 10
Time of Day: New Day; Morning

At Forrester Creations, in the CEO Office, Steffy is sitting behind her desk. She is talking on the office phone. Her laptop is open on the desk.

STEFFY: (on the phone) Hey, dad, it’s me. I hope you get my message soon. Anyway, I just wanted to tell you that I finally found Sally’s replacement. The idea came to me last night and I already had the person’s contact information. I’ll be talking with them today and I’m going to make an offer. One that I’m sure they won’t be able to refuse.

At Il Giardino, Ridge is sitting at the bar. He is having a cup of coffee. Brooke enters the establishment, smiles upon noticing him, and walks over to him.

BROOKE: Good morning.

Brooke takes a seat on the chair next to Ridge.

RIDGE: Hello, Logan.

BROOKE: So, you wanted to see me?

RIDGE: Yes.

BROOKE: What’s on your mind?

RIDGE: A lot of things, including the state of our marriage.

BROOKE: It has been a main subject of conversation for a few weeks now.

RIDGE: Yes, it most certainly has. And, I think that today is the perfect day to make a decision about our future with one another.

At Sally’s Apartment, in the Living Room, Sally and Katie enter the room. Each of them is wheeling a suitcase over to the door.

KATIE: So, you’re officially all packed and ready for this trip.

SALLY: Yes. I’m ready to get out there and explore the world. I’m even going to visit my great-aunt Sally in Italy.

KATIE: Tell her that I said ‘hello.’

SALLY: Of course I will. And, I will also tell her what you’ve done for me.

KATIE: Sally, it really is my pleasure.

SALLY: Katie, I mean it when I say that I’m eternally grateful.

KATIE: Anytime. Now, before you leave, I do want to ask you something that has been weighing heavily on my mind lately.

SALLY: Okay. Go ahead. Ask me anything.

KATIE: Are you nervous about taking this trip in your medical state?

At Taylor’s Apartment, in the Living Room, Taylor is sitting on the couch. She is having a cup of coffee and watching the morning news. As the news goes into commercial, Jack enters the room. He is dressed for the day. Upon noticing him, Taylor shuts off the television.

TAYLOR: (standing) Well, well, well, don’t you look awfully dapper.

JACK: Thanks, mom. I have a job interview today.

TAYLOR: Already? That was rather quick.

JACK: Yeah, there was an opening at a company that I’ve admired for a long time.

TAYLOR: (smiling) It doesn’t happen to be Forrester Creations, does it?

JACK: Surprisingly, no. It’s another company here in LA though.

TAYLOR: Oh yeah? Tell me. Maybe I can pass along a good word.

JACK: Well, I kinda don’t want to tell you. I’m not sure you’re gonna like who I want to go work for, mom. With all considered, maybe you should just not be involved here.

TAYLOR: Jack, tell me right now. I demand to know who you’re wanting to work for. Since it seems to concern me, I think I deserve to know.

JACK: (sighs) If you must know, I have an interview at Spencer Publications.

TAYLOR: Like hell you do!

Back at Sally’s Apartment, in the Living Room, Sally lets out a sigh and goes over to the couch. Katie follows her and the two sit down.

SALLY: To tell you the truth, I was at first.

KATIE: What changed?

SALLY: My doctor giving me the all-clear. And, I’m glad he did. It meant a lot to me. If Doctor Booth wouldn’t have given me the all-clear…

KATIE: Then, you would’ve been caught up in your worst thoughts imaginable.

SALLY: Exactly. I’m just happy that I can take this trip to refresh my outlook on life. And, when I come back, I’ll be ready to start my chemotherapy and I’ll have a better sense of fighting left in me. This is going to be a good thing. I know it will be.

KATIE: I’m excited to see what this next chapter brings for you. Also, don’t worry. I’ll be sure to send you plenty of pictures from Bill and I’s commitment ceremony.

SALLY: Thank you. I can’t wait to see them. Even though Bill and I have had our fair share of battles through the three years I’ve been in LA, that doesn’t change how happy I am for you to be back with a man you share so much with.

KATIE: (laughs) At least we’re gonna do it right this time.

SALLY: I know that you will.

KATIE: Good things will come to both of us. I can feel it.

SALLY: Same here. Here’s to blocking out the past and looking towards the future.

Back at Taylor’s Apartment, in the Living Room, Taylor comes out from behind the coffee table and goes over to Jack.

TAYLOR: I won’t allow you to work for Bill Spencer. Not after everything he did to your sister and his own child. Working for him would mean that you would waste your future. Honey, if you want, I can make one call to Ridge and get you hired in the PR department at Forrester. After all, your sister is even the Co-CEO with Ridge. I’m sure that your sister and your uncle would make it worth your while.

JACK: Mom, that’s just it. I don’t want to work at Forrester. The last thing I would want to do is let nepotism be shown. Steffy is not only someone I’ve come to know as a sister, but she’s also my cousin. Coupled with Ridge being my uncle, it wouldn’t be a good look. I know that Forrester is built on nepotism because it’s a family owned company, but I don’t want to do that. I want to get out and spread my wings. I don’t want a job handed to me.

TAYLOR: Honey, it wouldn’t be handed to you. You would work for that position everyday. Come on, Jack. Please, try and see my reasoning here.

JACK: I know that you think Bill did something horrible to Steffy. However, they made love consensually. That’s the key word.

TAYLOR: He damaged her and her marriage to Liam.

JACK: Whatever. Look, I love you. But, I’m not about to give up this meeting and all the perks working at this company could bring me. I hope that in time, you’ll understand that.

Jack grabs his briefcase off of the coffee table and kisses Taylor on the cheek.

JACK: I love you, mom. And, I hope in time, you’ll side with me on this.

Jack turns around and heads for the door. He opens it, exits, and shuts the door.

TAYLOR: I can’t believe my son is wanting to work for Bill Spencer and Spencer Publications. I know he doesn’t see it; but for his sake, I hope that meeting goes down in flames.

Back at Il Giardino, Brooke now has a cup of coffee in front of her as well.

BROOKE: Please tell me that Taylor hasn’t tried to fill your head with anymore talks about what she thinks is right for you and our marriage.

RIDGE: She has not. I promise you.

BROOKE: Good. You know, Ridge, after everything we’ve been through, I want you to know that I’ll always love you, regardless of the decision we make today.

RIDGE: Same here, Logan.

BROOKE: You know, I’ve been thinking about us a lot lately.

RIDGE: Really?

BROOKE: Yes. You see, one day I pulled out an old file and I began looking through newspaper clippings of when I created the BeLieF formula. I know that it ultimately led to a bad time for us, with me becoming taking the shares after you pulled that stunt. However, for a bit, we were happy with our success. I think you should know that I’ve looked into reviving BeLieF for the modern day and even updating the formula. I would like to bring Hope on as my co-leader in this and test it out on Hope For The Future designs, to see if the formula still does its job.

RIDGE: That’s a great idea, Logan. I would love it if you revived BeLieF.

BROOKE: Anyway, back to my point. Ridge, I already told you that I want Hope involved in this project. However, I can’t do it without you either. We’ve created so much together. And, I want to continue to create with you in the future. Not only formulas that make us a ton of money at the company, but I want to also continue to create our love story.

RIDGE: Brooke, ever since I first laid eyes on you at that party my parents threw, I was a goner when it came to looking in those eyes of yours.

BROOKE: I love it when you remind me of that.

RIDGE: We’ve been through so much together. And, much like you, I’m not ready to see it end. I’ve had a lot of time to think, myself. And, I want you to know that I forgive you for what happened with Thomas.

BROOKE: And, I forgive you for the whole Shauna situation.

RIDGE: So, we’re in agreement?

BROOKE: I believe so.

Ridge leans over and he and Brooke kiss passionately.

RIDGE: Let’s go home, Logan. Me and you. Just us two.

BROOKE: (smiling) I like the sound of that, Mr. Forrester.

RIDGE: I thought that you may, Mrs. Forrester.

Back at Forrester Creations, in the CEO Office, Steffy is still sitting behind her desk. She is typing out a report on her computer. She then looks over at the clock on the wall.

STEFFY: Still no word. I really hope that I don’t have to move to a second choice. I just wish she’d call me back with an answer.

Before Steffy goes back to typing, her office phone begins to ring.

STEFFY: Ask and you shall receive.

Steffy picks up the phone.

STEFFY: (on the phone) Hey! I was just talking about you. I’m so glad that you decided to call me back. I hope that you’ll say ‘yes’ to my offer. And, no, don’t worry, my dad will be fine with it. He left this decision up to me. Yes, I’m sure. So, come on, what do you say?

AMBER: Oh, Steffy, I’m so happy that you thought of me. And, yes, I will come back to LA. I think it’s high time that I do. And, I can’t wait to start this new job at Forrester Creations. I’ll see you and your family...very soon.

The camera zooms in on a smiling Amber.
