Episode 5
Time of Day: New Day; Morning
At the Logan Mansion, in the Entrance Way, Brooke comes down the stairs. She is putting on a pair of gold, hoop earrings. Before she enters the living room, there is a knock at the door. She then walks over to the door.

BROOKE: (opening the door) Ridge, what brings you by? Did you forget to pick something up for your stay at the guest house?

RIDGE: No, not at all. Can I come in, Logan?
BROOKE: Of course.
Brooke steps out of the way and Ridge enters. Brooke shuts the door.
BROOKE: (turning around) So, did you finally talk to Taylor?
RIDGE: That’s why I’m here.
BROOKE: What did she have to say for herself?
RIDGE: I don’t believe that she is as unhinged as she was the night she shot Bill. However, I do think there’s still something there. She suggested something kind of radical to me.
BROOKE: Oh yeah? What’s that?
RIDGE: She suggested that if I truly wanted to take Thomas’ side in everything, then I should call up a lawyer and have divorce papers drafted up for us.
At Il Giardino, Taylor and Steffy sit down at a table.

TAYLOR: Thank you for meeting me for breakfast, honey.
STEFFY: Mom, I wouldn’t miss a breakfast date between us for the world.
TAYLOR: That makes me happy to hear. (sighs/opening menu) Anyway, have you heard anything from Thomas? I hope to see you two having breakfast soon.
STEFFY: Mom, we’re taking it one step at a time. Thomas and I were always very close. But, that brother/sister dynamic has truly changed. You know that.
TAYLOR: I know. I just hope that things are repaired soon.
STEFFY: In time, they will be. You count on that.
At Forrester Creations, in the Design Room, Hope is looking through some designs that Sally has drawn up for Hope’s next collection. She is also on the office phone.

HOPE: (on the phone) Sally, I just saw your designs. These are amazing. I can’t wait to see what you come up with next. Call me back so we can talk about what you want to do with my whole big, beach hat idea.
Hope smiles and hangs up the phone. Then, there’s a knock at the door.
HOPE: (calling out) Come in!
Hope sets the sketches down on the desk. Liam enters the room.
HOPE: Liam, hey, what are you doing here?
LIAM: We need to talk about Thomas.
Thomas then appears behind Liam, standing at the doorway.

THOMAS: Oh, goodie! Can I join in the conversation?
Liam turns around. He and Hope face Thomas.
At Sally’s Apartment, in the Living Room, Sally and Wyatt walk over to the couch, it is apparent that Wyatt has just arrived at the apartment.
SALLY: Thank you for stopping by before you headed off to work.
WYATT: No problem. Why’d you call me over here this morning?
SALLY: I wanted to talk to you about my diagnoses. I know that I told you to butt out originally. However, with everything that has happened to us, I feel as though you have a right to know what’s going on. Especially since I’m saying goodbye.
Back at Forrester Creations, in the Design Room, Thomas enters the office.
LIAM: Thomas, this is supposed to be a private conversation between me and Hope.
THOMAS: It concerns me, Spencer.
HOPE: Boys, please don’t fight in my office. Thomas, I wish that you would leave so Liam and I could talk. We share a daughter, remember? We have a lot more to talk about than you.
LIAM: You know, how you’re using your own child to place yourself into Zoe’s life. People who don’t manipulate their children for personal gain usually want to talk about other things. Like, their eating habits and school schedule.
THOMAS: First off, I’m not using my son for anything. Secondly, I’m not placing myself into Zoe’s life at all. In fact, you can’t place yourself into someone’s life when they’re halfway around the world.
HOPE: What are you talking about, Thomas?
THOMAS: Did you not get Zoe’s resignation?
LIAM: What did you do to her?
THOMAS: Whoa! I didn’t do anything. I went over to Zoe’s last night to tell her I feel. Despite what you two think, I like her. Anyway, she got accepted into this internship group in London.
HOPE: I don’t believe you.
LIAM: Same here.
THOMAS: Believe what you want.
LIAM: If it is true, I bet you ten bucks that Douglas was probably at Zoe’s apartment with you last night. You probably used him one last time.
THOMAS: I didn’t, actually. Douglas was too busy getting ready to go to Switzerland last night. Tomorrow morning, he’s going to start at his new boarding school with Will.
LIAM: You sent your son to the same boarding school as my little brother?
THOMAS: I did, yes. I thought that Douglas shouldn’t have to bare the negativity that you two put out into the world any longer.
HOPE: Thomas, you need to leave. Right now.
THOMAS: Fine. Just know that I’m winning so far.
Thomas exits the office, shutting the door behind him.
LIAM: I can’t believe him!
HOPE: I know. Zoe left LA, supposedly. I promise you that I’ll check into that. And, then, he sends Douglas to school in Switzerland unexpectedly. Liam, I don’t believe that any of this is a coincidence. I think that Thomas has something up his sleeve when it comes to sending Douglas thousands of miles away. I’m gonna find out what that something is.
Back at Sally’s Apartment, in the Living Room, Wyatt and Sally sit on the couch.
WYATT: What do you mean you’re saying goodbye?
SALLY: I realize that I should’ve rephrased. The way I put it, that sounds very scary. Anyway, what I meant, is that I’m going on the trip of a lifetime. I’ll be quitting Forrester by the end of the day and then my Doctor is going to email me back soon and see if my body is up to taking this trip. Especially when it comes to my disease and my course of treatment as a factor.
WYATT: I think that you taking the trip of a lifetime is a great idea. But, I do want to know what you’re up against here. What is going on with you?
SALLY: I will tell you that I do have longer to live than doctors originally thought. But, that doesn’t mean that I’m still safe. I have what’s called Myeloma. It is a form of cancer that attacks my bloodstream and makes my white blood cells basically die off. It’s crippling my immune system.
WYATT: Sally, I’m so sorry. God, that’s awful. I know that you didn’t want me as your support system. However, if there’s anything I can do, please, please, let me know.
SALLY: Thank you, Wyatt. I just want to be travelling the world by next week, hopefully. (looking at her watch) You should be getting to the office, Wyatt.
Wyatt and Sally stand.
SALLY: I do want to thank you for coming.
Sally and Wyatt hug one another.
WYATT: Anytime, Sally. Anytime, day or night.
Back at the Logan Mansion, in the Living Room, Ridge and Brooke enter the room.
BROOKE: Taylor suggested that we get a divorce?
RIDGE: Yes.
BROOKE: I hope that you laughed in her face. Ridge, the issues that we have are our issues to work through. Taylor doesn’t get to be the almighty decision maker in our marriage.
RIDGE: I shot her down flat, Brooke. I didn’t think about what she said for even a second. It was just made clear to me that all she wants to do is wreak havoc between us again.
BROOKE: Clearly. Look, I don’t want you taking any advice from Taylor. It would mean a lot to me if you just tried to ignore her when she tries to have an opinion about our marriage.
RIDGE: Already done, Logan. I won’t let her make any choices for us. Nor, will I consider any options she puts out there. But, I think that we should talk about the options we have in front of us. I think that’d be a good idea.
BROOKE: I think that’s a good idea too. I think it is high time that we made a choice concerning our marriage and what we should do for the future.
RIDGE: I do miss you. I truly do.
BROOKE: I miss you too. And, I do want you back in this house. I’ve thought a lot about it since I talked about that with you a few days ago.
RIDGE: I’d be willing to move back in.
BROOKE: That makes me happy to hear, Ridge. But, before you can move back in, we do have to talk about the elephant in the room. The reason we split up in the first place was because of Thomas and what I accidentally did to him. I just need to know how much of a factor he’s going to continue to be in our marriage.
Back at Il Giardino, Taylor and Steffy put their napkins on their empty plates.
TAYLOR: And, don’t worry, this breakfast is on me.
STEFFY: Thank you, mom.
Taylor reaches in her purse and grabs her wallet. She opens her wallet and puts a credit card on the table. She then closes her wallet and puts it in her purse.
STEFFY: I wish that I could spend the whole day with you. I hate to eat and run.
TAYLOR: Honey, don’t be sorry. We have a lot of time now to spend with one another. And, I want you to walk out of this restaurant and go straight to Forrester Creations. I want you to continue to be that successful, independent business woman that I adore.
STEFFY: Mom, thank you. That was really kind of you to say.
TAYLOR: It’s the truth, darling. Now, I won’t keep you any longer. Please, go to work and have a fabulous day. I’ll see you soon.
STEFFY: Are you sure?
TAYLOR: Yes.
Steffy stands and collects her things. She then goes to Taylor and kisses her on the cheek. Taylor smiles and Steffy walks off. The Waiter comes over and grabs Taylor’s credit card.
TAYLOR: Thank you.
As the Waiter nods and walks off, Taylor’s phone begins to ring. Taylor grabs her purse again from the side of her chair, opens it, and retrieves her phone. She then answers the call.
TAYLOR: (on the phone) It’s so great to hear from you, darling! I’ve missed you so much! I just had breakfast with your sister. You should give her a call. She misses you.
MAN: (over the phone) I will, mom. I promise. I miss Steffy too. But, to tell you the truth, I’m not sure a call would be a good idea.
TAYLOR: (over the phone) Why not?
MAN: (over the phone) Because, why should I call when I’m on my way to LA?
TAYLOR: (on the phone) You are?
On a Private Jet, a Man is talking on the phone, as he is sitting in a jet seat.
MAN: (on the phone) Oh yes, mom. I’ll be home very soon.
TAYLOR: (over the phone) Oh, Jack, that’s so great to hear.
JACK: (on the phone) I can’t wait to see you, mom. Oh, how I can’t wait.
The camera pans up to Jack. He is smiling.
